While working on Dynamics 365 CRM + SSRS Reports, we ran into a strange problem 😅
The report was extremely slow… and the reason? Images at full size with no optimization.
- ❌ Results:
Slow report rendering
Images sometimes not showing
Report size way too large
- 🔍 Root Cause
Images were being fetched at full size (Base64 / API) and rendered directly inside SSRS.
- 💡 The Fix:
- ✅ Image compression & resizing
- ✅ Thumbnail strategy instead of full image
- ✅ Correct MIME types (image/jpeg – image/png)
- ✅ Optimized API responses (images only when needed)
