A simple question… but the difference between them matters a lot for any Developer working on Dynamics 365 CRM / Dataverse 👨💻
Let’s simplify it 👇
- 🔹 Early Bound – you work with CRM using Generated Classes: IntelliSense, Strongly Typed, Field errors show up early, very suitable for large projects and Plugins
- 🔹 Late Bound – you work with the Entity directly: Flexible, Dynamic, no need to Generate Classes, but you might catch some errors only at runtime
- 💡 Very simply: Early Bound = CRM knows what you’re working with. Late Bound = you specify the Entity and Field yourself to CRM.
From my point of view 👌
If you’re working on a Large CRM Project or big Plugins 👉 Early Bound is an excellent choice
But if you’re building a Quick Plugin or need Dynamic Code 👉 Late Bound will be very practical
⚠️ Neither one is right and the other wrong… what matters is knowing when to use each one 💪
